L. (Deane) Wilson

L. Deane Wilson, MA, FASA, is the founder and Managing Partner of The Blackwell Group, a commercial appraisal review firm based in California. With 45 years of continuous service in the appraisal industry, Mr. Wilson has performed thousands of appraisals throughout California on virtually all types of real estate including industrial buildings, shopping centers, retail buildings, office buildings, mixed use properties, churches, self-storage facilities, hotels and motels, restaurants, golf courses, and airplane hangars. For the past 10 years, the firm has offered appraisal reviews exclusively. Mr. Wilson is considered one of the nation's leading experts in going concern appraisals. He designed and established a special certification in appraising going concern properties through the American Society of Appraisers. He is the founder of The Blackwell Institute for the Study of Land Use Ethics and graduated from BIOLA University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and earned a Special Major Masters Degree from California State University, Sacramento in Land Use Ethics. He has taught real estate courses in the US and Mexico, and was invited by the World Bank to teach in Europe.
