Lydia Thompson

Lydia Thompson, PhD, is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers and authority on the art and archaeology of Asia. She has more than 25 years of experience as an art historian, curator and educator. She has written extensively on Chinese art and archaeology, and received fellowships for her research on Chinese art from The National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. and the Kress Foundation for Art History. Her most recent article examines the sustainability of the Chinese art market boom. Dr. Thompson was educated at Middlebury College and obtained her M.A. and PhD from New York University, Institute of Fine Arts.
