Soodie Beasley

Soodie Beasley is an Accredited Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) in Fine Arts and Antiques & Decorative Arts. Additionally, she is a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) of 20th Century Decorative Arts and Design and an accredited member of Latin American Art.

She served as a board member of ASA and has presented at various professional conferences, including AAA (2014), ASA (2019), and ISA (2014). She was a regular contributor to the Journal of Advanced Appraisal Studies (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014) and Digital Journal of Advanced Appraisal Practice (2019).

Holding a BA and MA in Art History, Post-Baccalaureate in Interior Architecture, and a Certificate in Appraisal Studies, she has over 30 years experience in fine and decorative art. Beasley provided appraisals for estate tax, gift tax, and non-cash charitable donation, until her recent appointment. She continues to provide appraisals for insurance including damage and loss, equitable distribution, and reports for litigation matters.

She is an adjunct instructor at Park University and previously taught at The Kansas City Art Institute, teaching courses on the History of Interior Design, History of Graphic Design, Art History and Study Abroad since 2007. Successfully completed Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) since 2003.
